Wintry conditions to continue for the foreseeable in Mayo

THURSDAY will continue rather cool and unsettled with further spells of rain or showers and rather windy or breezy at times, according to the latest forecast.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 22

It'll be mostly dry tomorrow morning and afternoon with some sunshine for a while, and just a few isolated showers.

However, it'll become increasingly cloudy through the day, with rain spreading eastwards in the evening, becoming heavy in places.

Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees in mostly moderate west to south-west winds, fresh and strong for a time in western coastal parts, backing southerly later in the day and decreasing light to moderate.

However it won't be as blustery over the weekend as recently, with some longer drier spells mixed in too and some sunshine, the best of this on Saturday.

THURSDAY NIGHT

It will be wet with heavy rain and some thundery downpours, and with the possibility of coastal and surface water flooding.

The rain will clear north-eastwards from most parts overnight.

It'll be windy too, especially across southern and south-western areas, with strong to gale force and gusty southerly winds, veering west to north-westerly and decreasing fresh to strong.

Winds will be lighter and cyclonic variable for a time further north as an area of low pressure tracks in over the country.

Lowest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees.
