Minister for Finance takes time from holidaying in Mayo to visit Carraig Donn

The team at Carraig Donn and Aran Woollen Mills were thrilled to welcomed the Minister for Finance, Jack Chambers, to their head office on Lodge Road, Westport.

Minister Chambers, who was holidaying in the area, made time to visit the local business who run their global headquarters in Westport.

Combined, the companies employ over 120 people in Mayo and nearly 600 nationwide across its network of retail stores, manufacturing plant, warehousing and online businesses.

Minister Chambers, together with Minister Dara Calleary and Senator Lisa Chambers, visited the business to get an insight into their operations and to discuss the success and challenges businesses face.

Minister Chambers said: ‘It was great to meet with workers and management at Carraig Donn.

"They are a really successful export business and local employer in the west of Ireland and it was positive to discuss their ambitious growth plans for the future.’

Minister Chambers conducted a tour of the company factory floor and observed some of the manufacturing which happens on site daily. The visit concluded with a meeting with senior management.
