Mayo set for a sunny weekend with mild temperatures

The county is finally set to enjoy a spell of fine weather starting tomorrow, Friday, August 30.

According to Met Éireann, Friday will be dry with plenty of sunshine and temperatures ranging from 16 to 19 degrees Celsius, accompanied by light variable or southerly winds.

Looking ahead, the national outlook remains favourable with dry and mostly clear conditions continuing into Friday night, where temperatures will drop to between 7 and 10 degrees.

Saturday will see further sunshine across Mayo, with temperatures rising to between 18 and 22 degrees, under light south-easterly breezes.

Saturday night is expected to remain dry with clear skies and mild temperatures of around 11 to 12 degrees.

Sunday will start off mainly dry and sunny, but a spell of rain moving in from the south-west is forecast to bring some heavy showers later in the day.

Temperatures will hover between 18 and 21 degrees.

As for the start of next week, Monday and Tuesday are expected to be largely dry with some showers, particularly along southern coasts. Temperatures will remain around average for the time of year with variable winds.

Residents and visitors in Mayo should enjoy the sunny spells while they last, with only occasional rain expected later in the weekend.
