Music West hosts Open Day at its Mayo HQ and everyone is welcome
The team at Music West is excited to invite the people of Mayo to its annual Open Day.
This fun and free event offers an opportunity to try out musical instruments, meet the friendly team, enquire about classes and learn about our diverse ensembles and services.
Music West is a not-for-profit organisation, offering musical opportunities to adults and children of all ages and abilities.
The community-friendly event is due to take place between 3 and 5 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday, August 31) at the Music West premises, Breaffy Road Industrial Estate, Castlebar. (Eircode F23F510).
MUSIC CLASSES
People from all walks of life are welcome to enquire about learning music. Music West teach various orchestra and band instruments. Classes are generally one to one, though families can be accommodated.
You can enquire about brass, string, woodwind and percussion instruments as well as piano, guitar and ukulele. The open day offers a fantastic opportunity to try many different instruments before deciding to commit to classes.
MUSIC MAGIC
Music West also offer pre-instrument classes where pre-school to second class children can learn all about music in a playful group setting. The children have great fun learning music together through games, song and more.
The children can try out many musical instruments. Indeed, many go on to take individual classes in an instrument of their choice
MUSIC ENSEMBLES
Music West offers opportunities to play with three orchestras, a brass band, and a new big band ensemble. They are always looking for new members for all groups. A number of choirs also rehearse here. Some musical directors may be available on the day, if this is your interest.
OTHER SERVICES
Music West offers many other music-based services including the option to rent out rehearsal rooms for choirs, rock and pop bands and traditional music.

Music West is situated in the Breaffy Road Industrial Estate (near Woodies/Funsters).
Music West is a not-for-profit community organisation supporting adults and children to learn instruments and play together in music ensembles. The organisation seeks to serve the musical community as a whole. All are welcome.
