U2 announces release of ‘ZOO TV – Live In Dublin’ EP featuring iconic Mayo island

Fans thrilled as Keem Bay, Achill appears in newly released promo clip

Legendary Irish rock band U2 has announced the release of a new EP titled ‘ZOO TV – Live In Dublin,’ which will be available on August 30.

This much-anticipated release features five tracks recorded during their 1993 performance at the RDS in Dublin.

The announcement has sparked excitement, particularly among Mayo people, as the promo clip for the EP includes stunning shots of Keem Bay on Achill Island.

The EP is a tribute to U2’s unforgettable outdoor gig, which marked their hometown stop on the European Zooropa leg of their groundbreaking ZOO TV Tour. Known for its innovative use of multimedia, the tour was a satire on television and media oversaturation, reflecting the band’s evolving musical direction showcased in their 1991 album, ‘Achtung Baby.’

For years, bootlegged copies of the RDS show audio have circulated among fans.

However, this official release will be the first time these tracks are made widely available, making ‘ZOO TV – Live In Dublin’ a highly sought-after collectible.
