No Smoke No Vape policy as east Mayo GAA club launch Healthy Club initiative

AN east Mayo sports club is introducing a No Smoke No Vape policy.

The initiative at Kiltimagh GAA Club comes as the club has been accepted onto the Irish Life GAA Healthy Clubs Programme for phase six.

The Healthy Club programme will be officially launched at Kiltimagh GAA Club during family day at Gilmartin Park on Sunday, September 8, from 3 to 6 p.m.

As part of the programme, Kiltimagh GAA are introducing a No Smoke No Vape policy for the club and grounds. This aims to protect the health of club members, visitors and the wider community by minimising their exposure to tobacco related harm, including second-hand smoke, and reducing the initiation of smoking or vaping amongst young people.

Visitors to the club and grounds are asked to adhere to the policy and remind those around them that it is a No Smoke No Vape club.

The Healthy Clubs Programme aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve.

Kiltimagh GAA are looking forward to working with members and the community to encourage a healthy club - minds, bodies, community and facilities.

The Healthy Clubs team in Kiltimagh comprises Karen Forkan Burke, Carmel Bigley, Sinead Guinnelly, Sarah Lavelle, Ger McNicholas, John Hession and Niall Mulderrig.
