Citylink hand in hand with children's cancer charity

Irish Citylink has announced a new partnership with Hand in Hand Children’s Cancer Charity for the month of September in support of Children’s Cancer Awareness Month.

This collaboration aims to raise awareness, generate funds, and provide support to children and families affected by childhood cancer across Ireland.

Throughout the month of September, Irish Citylink will work closely with Hand in Hand to shine a light on childhood cancer.

Citylink will spread awareness and encourage passengers and the public to learn more about childhood cancer, donate vital funds, and support those in need.

As part of this, Citylink are running a raffle for tickets to the big Connacht v Leinster rugby match on October 19 in the Dexcom stadium in Galway.

Anyone who donates to Hand in Hand will automatically be entered into the draw.

Citylink will be hosting a “Spinathon” in the Galway Coach Station on Friday, September 27, to raise funds and awareness by staff getting involved by cycling on spin bikes throughout the day and encouraging passengers to donate.

Citylink will also be sponsoring Hand in Hand family’s day trips to multiple locations on the Citylink routes.

“We are delighted to partner with Hand in Hand during Children’s Cancer Awareness Month,” said Sarah Comer, Regional General Manager of Irish Citylink.

“We are committed and proud to support a Galway based charity like Hand in Hand who also operate on a national level.

"By working together with Hand in Hand, we hope to raise awareness and funds that will support children and families dealing with cancer not just in Galway, but around the country. We hope our passengers and the general public will get behind our campaign and help to make a huge difference.”

'We are absolutely delighted to have Citylink partner with Hand in Hand Children's Cancer Charity this September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month” said Caroline O'Connor, Fundraising & Communications Manager.

“Their commitment to help raise awareness and funds this September will make a significant impact, allowing us to provide practical and emotional supports to families in Ireland with a childhood cancer diagnosis.

With Citylink's support, we can extend our services to many more families who need our support at a really difficult time''
