Shock as car crashes into house in busy Mayo town centre

A gardaí investigation is underway in Mayo after a car crashed into a dwelling at the Fairgreen in Westport this afternoon.

Miraculously, nobody was injured in the incident.

However, considerable damage was caused to the vehicle and the property.

It is unclear if anybody was in the building when the accident occurred.

Members of An Garda Siochána were swift to arrive at the scene and a traffic management plan was put in place.

A video of the incident is being widely circulated on social media.
