Water supply returning to customers in Westport

UISCE Éireann crews have repaired a burst in Westport and water is returning to customers.

An early morning burst on Altamount Street affected customers on the Ballinrobe Road and some areas of the Newport Road. However, repairs were completed this evening and the system is now recharging.

Uisce Éireann’s Colette Scahill thanked those affected for their patience while crews carried out the works.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support.

“It may take a number of hours for the entire network to recharge especially for customers on higher ground and at the end of the network.”
