New sensory biodiversity park is opened in Mayo town

A big crowd turned up to the official opening of Balla's sensory biodiversity park, a space designed to provide a multi-sensory experience for everyone.

The amenity was created by Balla CRD in partnership with Balla Tidy Towns, supported by Mayo County Council and South West Mayo Development Company.

The official opening was performed by Minister Alan Dillon and was attended by a number of local politicians, including Minister Dara Calleary and Councillor Donna Sheridan, cathaoirleach, Castlebar Municipal District.

"This sensory park will be a lasting legacy for the community and all the volunteers involved in creating it" said Pat Boyle, chair of Balla Tidy Towns.
