Mayo County Library’s Comic Fest is back with a bang!

MAYO County Library’s second annual Comic Fest is set to take place on Saturday, September 21, and the line-up is full of things to see and do for everyone.

Thanks to Creative Ireland funding, the library is able to make this year’s ‘fest’ bigger and better than before.

Starting bright and early at 10 a.m., Castlebar Library will be full to bursting with writing and drawing workshops, a gaming van, Pokémon, Lego and more until 4 p.m. You might even see a few familiar faces, super and otherwise. That’s not to mention the hundreds of comic books and graphic novels for every age group that fill our shelves.

From Dog Man and Cat Kid to Deadpool and Wolverine, we have all your comic book needs covered.

If you’re feeling particularly creative, why not join in our costume competition or chat to some real-life comic book artists and experts. Dungeons & Dragons and Warhammer experts will also be on hand to introduce you to the world of RPGs (role-playing games to those in the know) and table-top gaming.

As always, all events are free but some workshops will require booking. While you’re there, why not sign up to the library (also free!), get your library card and access more events like this throughout the year.
