New east Mayo business MWM Beauty celebrates its official opening

MWM BEAUTY has celebrated its official opening in Swinford, nearly 14 years to the day since Megan Durkan opened her first beauty business (The Green Room).

Megan has had many ups and downs, like many other business women.

She sold her original business in 2016, as her Mom and business partner Joyce Sweeney was diagnosed with terminal cancer, later that year passing away.

Following her mother's passing, Megan focused all her attention on her own makeup artistry business, Makeup with Megan. Makeup with Megan, still today, is Megan’s main business and true passion, growing every year and making her one of the most popular makeup artists in the west of Ireland. Opportunities have also taken her business to the United States and UK last year.

In 2020, Megan decided she always had a passion for not only makeup but beauty as well, dipping her toes back into the beauty business, where services and staff grew, leading to this big move.

Megan is joined at MWM Beauty by her sister Kelsey, who leads the day to day business. This dynamic is so special and important as it’s living out Joyce’s dream of her daughters working alongside each other, providing their clients with specialised services and excellent customer service.

Katie McClafferty joined MWM at the start of 2024 and is the perfect addition. With her lovely demeanour, and let’s not forget that Scottish accent, Katie comes with excellent experience in beauty and specialises in nail treatments.

MWM is a place for everyone to enjoy and leave feeling beautiful on the inside and out.
