Mayo Tidy Towns group to host energy saving event
Community encouraged to cut energy costs and access expert advice
As energy prices continue to rise, Castlebar Tidy Towns is stepping up to help the local community save on their bills with a special event dedicated to sustainable energy solutions. On Thursday, October 10, at 7 p.m., the group will host an evening of practical advice at the Linenhall Arts Centre, aimed at helping homeowners, businesses, and community facilities reduce energy costs ahead of winter.
The event, titled "Energy Costs: Getting Started on Saving," will provide expert guidance on a range of topics, including how to access grants for energy upgrades, install solar panels, and explore energy retrofits.
Attendees will also learn about the Energy Master Plan for Castlebar.
Speakers include Oliver Killeen from WestQuay Energy, who will discuss the benefits of solar panels, and Noel Rowland of Churchfield Home Services, who will outline the One-Stop-Shop for energy retrofits.
Orla Nic Suibhne of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) will provide insights into grants and support for home energy upgrades, while Mel Gavin from ATU Sligo will talk about Castlebar's sustainable energy plans.
Whether you're a homeowner looking to reduce your winter heating bills or a business interested in renewable energy options, this event is set to offer valuable insights into cutting energy costs.
