Two young lives lost in Mayo road collision
A road traffic collision in south-east Mayo has claimed the lives of two young males, a teenage boy and a man in his late teens.
The crash occurred on the N83 in the townland of Levallyroe, between Ballyhaunis and Cloonfad after 8 p.m. last night, involving a tractor and a car.
Another teenage boy, who was also in the car, sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The driver of the tractor, a man in his 50s, is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene of the accident has been closed off for a technical examination as Gardaí work to understand the full circumstances of the tragedy.
A family liaison officer has been assigned to support the grieving families during this difficult time.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for information and are urging any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam recordings, from the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
