Re-route buses in Mayo county town to ease gridlock

BUS Éireann is being requested to use an alternative route to Spencer Street when travelling to the bus stop in Castlebar.

Councillor Ger Deere said drivers’ GPS sends them down the street, instead of going round the link road, and it is causing gridlock.

He asked the council to write to the transport company about the matter.

Councillor Donna Sheridan asked that they also be reminded of her request to have a bus stop at the primary care centre in the town.
