Plans to enhance Mayo's Princess Grace Park

THE Princess Grace Park in Newport is to undergo enhancement works.

The community has been invited to have an input into how they'd like the park, which is located at the quay area, to be enhanced.

Driving the initiative in the princess's ancestral home town are Naddco, Newport Tidy Towns and Newport Business Association.

The call-out for input was shared on the Newport Mayo Facebook page, which explained: 'Newport is about to embark on an exciting new project to enhance Princess Grace Park in the Quay area, and we want your input.

'Whether you are a local resident, a business owner, or a visitor, your vision for the future of Princess Grace Park, on potential improvements such as recreational facilities, landscaping, accessibility, and sustainability efforts, is invaluable in shaping the future of this beloved green space.

'The initiative, spearheaded by a partnership between Naddco, Newport Tidy Towns, and Newport Business Association, aims to transform the park into a more vibrant and welcoming space that serves both the community and visitors alike.'

To share your ideas, you can message the Newport Mayo Facebook page, send your suggestions by email to tourism@newportmayo.ie, or pop them into the suggestion boxes at Newport Tourist Office on Georges Street.

People are invited to send on their ideas before October 31.
