US signing of sister park agreement with Mayo's Wild Nephin National Park
A signing ceremony has taken place in the US for a sister park twinning between Wild Nephin National Park in Mayo and Yosemite National Park in California.
It follows a similar official signing ceremony hosted in the Mayo park earlier this year.
Yosemite National Park hosted the twinning ceremony at Glacier Point Amphitheater to celebrate the signing of the agreement with Wild Nephin National Park.
Representatives from the National Parks and Wildlife Service travelled to Yosemite for the event, marking the start of a five-year agreement that will see collaboration and resource sharing between the two parks.
Yosemite and Wild Nephin will exchange information, education and expertise regarding the management of their respective parks. Areas of collaboration include ecological restoration, fire management, and dark sky preservation.
