Launch of Autism Friendly Town initiative this weekend

BALLINA is set to become an autism friendly town.

The Ballina Autism Friendly Town group are launching their initiative to become an AsIAm accredited Autism Friendly Town this Sunday, October 13, at 3 p.m. in Great National Hotel Ballina.

Guest speakers include Adam Harris, CEO of AsIAm, and well known Mayo autistic advocate and Connaught Telegraph columnist Amanda McGuinness.

The Autism Friendly Town initiative was launched in 2018 by AslAm, Ireland's national autism charity, and aims to create greater awareness, understanding and acceptance of autism so the community can become a more accessible and enjoyable place for autistic of all ages to live, work and socialise in.
