The Plough and the Stars coming to Mayo stage

SAINT Patrick’s Drama Group are hard at work rehearsing for their November production of Sean O’Casey’s The Plough and the Stars. All that’s missing is an audience.

They have plenty of seats to fill with the production running over four nights from November 20 to 23 inclusive at the Town Hall Theatre, Westport.

The Plough and the Stars centres around the very human story of newlywed Nora Clitheroe as she tirelessly works to lift her family out of their impoverished circumstances whilst trying to prevent her husband Jack from involvement in the revolutionary fervour sweeping Dublin. It is a story of passion and ideals on one hand and the loss and devastation that can be wrought as a consequence.

Nora Clitheroe is endearingly played by the talented Eamer Durcan whilst Niall Quinn gives a commanding performance as her husband Jack.
