A much calmer day ahead for Mayo as Storm Ashley set to pass

Thousands of Mayo residents are still left without power as the full wrath of Storm Ashley is yet to be fully understood.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 21

Monday will be a much quieter and drier day.

There'll be some sunshine and just scattered showers.

The showers will become heavier later in the day.

Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees in mostly moderate southwest winds, those winds increasing fresh to strong in Atlantic coastal parts.

There'll with a good lot of dry weather in many areas for the next couple of days, before becoming more unsettled later in the week, then while there's some uncertainty, there's the likelihood of some drier weather for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Monday night will be rather cloudy for a time with showery outbreaks of rain continuing to spread eastwards, followed by some clear spells and a few showers into western parts.

Lows of 6 to 10 degrees with winds decreasing light to moderate southerly.
