Official opening of new facilities for Mayo Autism Camp

Conor Murtagh and Saileóg Ní Mhoráin helped cut the ribbon as Mayo Autism Camp officially opened its new facilities at Manulla Sporting Club.

Local area councillors, TDs and volunteers from Mayo Autism Camp and Manulla FC were in attendance.

The new MAC Hub includes a sensory garden, Cubbie, changing toilet facility, and an office for MAC.

This project is truly unique not only in Mayo but also on the island of Ireland.

It is designed to cater to individuals of all abilities and backgrounds, providing a safe and welcoming space for everyone to enjoy.

The cubbie offers a calming and stimulating environment, while the changing places toilet facility will ensure that everyone will have access to appropriate facilities.

The sensory garden provides a peaceful outdoor space for relaxation and enjoyment.

Colette Heaney from Mayo Autism Camp and John Mulroy from Manulla FC Sporting Club said they are proud to be setting an example for other clubs and sporting facilities on how in collaboration they can make their facilities more inclusive and make the outdoors, sports and exercise more accessible for all.
