Mayo services' storm response praised

THE council crews, ESB, eir staff and emergency services who responded to issues arising from Storm Ashley at the weekend have been loudly praised.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy said crews had put their lives at risk to clear trees and keep emergency routes and services open.

Any damage caused had been cleared up as soon as possible, and he praised all involved in the response to the storm.

Councillor Mulroy was speaking at a municipal council meeting in Belmullet on Monday afternoon.
