Call for bus shelter at foot of Croagh Patrick
A bus shelter is needed at the foot of Croagh Patrick in Murrisk.
Local people have been asking for the facility, Councillor Chris Maxwell told a municipal meeting, who asked council management if there were any plans for a shelter.
He was told this is a matter for Bus Éireann predominantly.
However, there is a project to be undertaken in Murrisk village in 2025 to develop the area so maybe there could be provision of a bus shelter in that too.
Councillor Sean Carey said Belmullet also has no shelter, or designated spot, with buses pulling up at different locations, which is causing confusion.
He was told the matter will be brought to the attention of Bus Éireann.
