Crossmolina clinch senior status in Mayo intermediate final replay
Little could separate Crossmolina and Moy Davitt’s in the intermediate county final replay, but a decisive added time goal from the palm of Niall Coggins put the men in Maroon ahead with minutes remaining.
It was a tight and tense affair as Moy Davitt’s sharpshooter Cian McHale and James Maheady of Crossmolina traded scores throughout the encounter.
At half-time the scoreboard read 7 points to 6 in favour of Moy Davitts. Tempers flared as a schemozzle brewed when both sides went toward the dug-out.
A second half black card for Crossmolina Deel Rovers talisman and inter-county star Jordan Flynn failed to ebb away at their belief, an outstanding performance from James Maheady helped Crossmolina on their way.
A last minute goal from the palm of Niall Coggins sealed the deal as the north Mayo club will now re-join the senior ranks after 6 years in intermediate.
