Three Mayo FG seats 'likely' - RTÉ correspondent

RTÉ's west of Ireland correspondent Pat McGrath believes Fine Gael is 'likely' to win three seats in Mayo in the forthcoming general election.

In his analysis featured on the broadcaster's website, he stated: "It is hard but not impossible to see the outgoing Coalition taking four out of five seats in Mayo.

"Three (two Fine Gael, one Fianna Fáil) seems a more likely haul though.

"At this remove, Sinn Féin and Patsy O'Brien are favoured to complete the constituency line up."

The 16 candidates in Mayo Dara Calleary (Fianna Fáil), Lisa Chambers (Fianna Fáil), Rose Conway-Walsh (Sinn Féin), Joe Daly (People Before Profit-Solidarity), Alan Dillon (Fine Gael), Mark Duffy (Fine Gael), Martina Jennings (Fine Gael), Keira Keogh (Fine Gael), Stephen Kerr (Independent), Paul Lawless (Aontú), Chris Maxwell (Independent Ireland), Gerry Murray (Sinn Féin), Patsy O’Brien (Independent), Mícheál Ó Conaill (Green Party), Gerry Loftus (Independent) and Sean Forkin (Independent).

The latest time for receiving nominations is 12 noon on November 16.
