A pleasant start to the weekend in store for Mayo

Unseasonably warm temperatures, according to the latest forecast.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15

Mist and fog will mostly lift on Friday but it'll remain mostly cloudy with patches of light rain or drizzle.

Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees with light to moderate south westerly winds.

Gradually turning more unsettled over the weekend and a big change to much colder weather into next week with some wintry precipitation for some areas.

There is some uncertainty though in the forecast detail for Sunday and Monday, but by Tuesday there's certainty that a cold arctic airmass will be established across the country with showers of sleet and snow, most widespread in the north and parts of the west.

FRIDAY NIGHT

Cloudy with some patchy light rain and drizzle and with outbreaks of more persistent rain moving into the north west early in the night and gradually tracking south eastwards.

A clearance will follow into much of Ulster and Connaught by Saturday morning.

Turning colder as the rain clears with lowest temperatures of 3 to 5 degrees under the clearer skies, but remaining milder elsewhere, with lows of 7 to 11 degrees.

Winds will be light to moderate south westerly, fresher for a time in the north west and veering north west as the rain clears.
