Leading bookmakers' odds for Mayo indicate FG 2, FF 1, SF 1 and Ind. 1

Paddy Power Bookmakers has published its general election odds for the five-seat Mayo constituency.

Taken at face value, it suggests Fine Gael is on course for two seats, Fianna Fáil one, Sinn Féin one - with the final seat going to south Mayo independent, Councillor Patsy O'Brien.

However, it does not take into account how transfers will play out.

And, as all political observers know, they will prove critical to the final outcome.

Castlebar-based Minister of State Alan Dillon is tipped to head the poll ahead of Sinn Féin's Rose Conway Walsh.

The listed odds are as follows:

Alan Dillon (Fine Gael) 1/10

Rose Conway-Walsh (Sinn Fein) 1/5

Dara Calleary (Fianna Fáil) 1/4

Mark Duffy (Fine Gael) 8/15

Patsy O'Brien (Independent) 4/6

Lisa Chambers (Fianna Fáil) 8/11

Martina Jennings (Fine Gael) 5/6

Keira Keogh (Fine Gael) 5/2

Gerry Murray (Sinn Féin) 11/2

Stephen Kerr (Independent) 12/1

Paul Lawless (Aontú) 16/1

Chris Maxwell (Independent Ireland) 33/1

Micheal Ó Conaill (Green Party) 40/1

Joe Daly (PBP) 200/1.

There are no listings, at this stage, for Gerry Loftus (Independent) or Sean Forkin (Independent)
