Mayo county town looking spick and span with streets washed

THE washing of streets in Castlebar town centre has been welcomed, but local councillors would like to see it extended.

Councillor Cyril Burke wondered if the scheme could be 'stretched' to include another street or two when the municipal district met yesterday.

Between the traffic lights and Market Square is the area being washed, with works at night so it's not impinging on people.

Council management was told there are other streets that need attention, such as Rush Street and Castle Street.
