Shane MacGowan appreciation event at Mayo venue

THE Irish Folk Music School in Glenisland, Castlebar, will host their last gig of this year on Saturday, December 7, and it's going to be a very special night.

To mark the one year anniversary of his passing, the school will be presenting the music and songs of Shane MacGowan.

Some of this country's best loved songs in a wonderfully intimate venue will be performed by the school's own music teachers with a variety of traditional instruments.

There is no alcohol at the event but freshly brewed coffee, tea and goodies will be provided.

Doors open at 7.30 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
