Meeting taking place in Ballina on Tuesday evening.

Public meeting in Mayo to call for Occupied Territories Bill

A public meeting addressing the Occupied Territories Bill will take place on Tuesday, November 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kennedy Glasgow House, The Quay, Ballina.

Independent Senator Frances Black and humanitarian expert Ray Dolphin will lead discussions on Ireland's role in advocating justice for Palestine.

The Occupied Territories Bill, first introduced by Senator Black, seeks to ban trade with goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements. Speaking ahead of the event, Senator Black expressed urgency, saying, “The situation in Palestine has rapidly deteriorated. While condemning these actions as illegal, continuing trade with settlement goods is clear hypocrisy—it must stop.”

Ray Dolphin, a former senior analyst with the UN and author of The West Bank Wall: Unmaking Palestine, will offer insights into the ongoing humanitarian crisis and policy implications.
