Westport Chamber encourages people 'to vote to retain local TD'

Westport Chamber of Commerce has issued a statement calling on members of the electorate to vote to retain a local TD in next Friday's general election in the five-seat Mayo constituency.

The organisation, in a statement, has acknowledged the very important work retiring TD Michael Ring did for the town and the county as a whole.

It continued: "He was passionate about aiding local commerce and business with his promotion of the tourism industry and more particularly the whole of the county's west coast - not forgetting his accomplishments with the Wild Atlantic Way initiative.

"His commitment to the needs and concerns of the local community were unwavering.

"Michael Ring's office was always open to assist all people from wall walks of life.

"As a local chamber we have seen first hand the advantages of having a Westport person elected to Dáil Eireann.

"We advocate for the continuation of a local TD's office in Westport by supporting the only Westport candidate in this general election -Keira Keogh.

"Westport Chamber of Commerce, in thanking Michael Ring for his sterling work, now wishes him and his family a happy and healthy retirement."
