Exclusion of media from Mayo GAA board meeting raises eyebrows
Members of the media have been informed they are excluded from attending and reporting on tonight's meeting of Mayo GAA county board.
The organisation has explained it is permitted to have meetings without the media being present.
And, on this occasion, officials have requested that the media is not there to report on proceedings.
"As always, we are greatly appreciative of the media and the support they give Mayo GAA," a spokesperson outlined.
The decision, however, has raised eyebrows in view of the decision announced earlier this week to postpone the annual convention from December 8 until December 18 due to what was described as 'circumstances outside the board's control'.
A full explanation is expected to be given to club delegates tonight when the media is not there.
