Mayo venue presents trio of live concerts
AT the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar, rounding out 2024 are three equally gripping music acts for local audiences to experience.
Declan Askin and Bart De Boer will deliver an unforgettable musical adventure, blending heartfelt storytelling with extraordinary musicianship on Thursday, December 19.
Singer-songwriter and guitarist, Askin joins forces with piano and keyboard virtuoso De Boer in the creation of a rich, emotive soundscape perfectly suited to this intimate setting.
Original songs are abundant in their repertoire, which explores the full spectrum of human emotions. From tender love ballads to rousing anthems, and from poignant reflections on loss, to moments of comic relief, their music mirrors life’s joys and complexities. THE RAINES
On Saturday, December 7, The Raines , a band whose combined musical influences result in a rich collaborative connection, take to the Linenhall stage.
Ruth Dillon, Yvonne Tiernan and Juliana Erkkonen represent an unparalled fusion of pure and dulcet tones, vocal harmonies, countermelodies and rhythmic strings. This Galway based folk/Americana trio have garnered impressive traction with Reverie, their eagerly awaited debut album, securing five No.1 hits in the iTunes charts.
A group with incredible pedigree, Ruth Dillon (vocals, guitar, ukulele) has toured with the iconic Dolores Keane and recorded as a solo artist. Global performer Yvonne Tiernan (vocals, ukulele, percussion) is lauded as lead singer with The Chieftains, and prominent figure in Ireland’s Americana scene, and Juliana Erkkonen (fiddle, vocals) has released eight albums with various acts.
FINCO QUARTET
Also upcoming, the Linenhall welcomes the esteemed Ficino Quartet on Wednesday, December 4. Featuring Elaine Clark, Lynda O’Connor, Nathan Sherman, and Ailbhe McDonagh, the quartet will perform works by Haydn, Amanda Feery, and Beethoven.
