Mayo GAA announces Club Championship Football Team of the Year

Mayo GAA has announced its Club Championship Football Team of the Year.

It comprises of players who starred in the senior, intermediate and junior championships this year.

There are nine senior, four intermediate and two junior players selected in the team.

The champions in each grade – Ballina Stephenites (senior), Crossmolina Deel Rovers (intermediate) and Cill Chomáin (junior) – dominate, with nine of the 15 players coming from these three clubs.

There are also representatives from Ballaghaderreen (two), Knockmore (one), Balla (one), Breaffy (one) and Moy Davitts (one).

The team in full is as follows: David Clarke (Ballina Stephenites); David Tighe (Ballina Stephenites), Kevin Mulhern (Crossmolina Deel Rovers), David Drake (Ballaghaderreen); Padraig O’Hora (Ballina Stephenites), Conor Loftus (Crossmolina Deel Rovers), Liam Maloney (Cill Chomáin); Jordan Flynn (Crossmolina Deel Rovers), Frank Irwin (Ballina Stephenites); Gary McHale (Balla), Kuba Callaghan (Ballaghaderreen), Darren McHale (Knockmore); Cian McHale (Moy Davitts), Aidan O’Shea (Breaffy), Justin Healy (Cill Chomáin).

The sponsors of the three Mayo championships are Connacht Gold (senior), Egan Jewellers (intermediate) and Treanlaur Catering (junior).
