Mayo Women's League seeks expressions of interest for Masters League
THE Mayo Women's League is seeking expressions of interest from clubs with a view to running its first ever Masters League this spring.
A call has gone out to clubs interested in entering teams into the league, which is for players over 30.
Interest has been expressed by a number of clubs in having a Masters League, with many players wishing to continue to play football after finishing up with their clubs.
That interest was drawn more into focus following this summer's FAI KickFit series at Ballyvary Blue Bombers and Kiltimagh Knock United, following on from Castlebar Celtic's participation in the inaugural series last year.
It is proposed to start the Masters League in mid February or March 2025, with five- or seven-a-side games.
Interested clubs are asked to contact women's league secretary Joe King on (083) 8554284.
