Top Mayo GAA club ratifies appointment of new manager

Castlebar Mitchels has confirmed the appointment of Kevin Filan as the club's new senior team manager for 2025.

His appointment to the role is ratified by the club's executive committee.

He succeeds Barry Moran who stepped down from the position a number of weeks ago.

A statement by the committee said: "As a club we wish Kevin and his team the very best for the year ahead.

"We will give them full support and backing and wish them success in the year ahead."

A former senior star with the club, Filan has been promoted from managing the club's intermediate squad.
