Mayo founder of Jenny Glow beauty range tells her inspiring story
by Michael Byrne
ONE of the great business success stories of the past few years, not only in Mayo and Ballyhaunis, but throughout Ireland and beyond, has been that of local lady Jane Buckley with her beauty and fragrance range, known as Jenny Glow.
As part of the programme of Wellness Week 2024 at Ballyhaunis Community School, the organisers were delighted to welcome Jane back for a return visit to the school.
Jane, owner of Roc Ronnoco, shared with fifth year students the inspiring story of her journey from the classrooms at BCS to the fast-paced and dynamic world of the beauty and fragrance industry.
She discussed the creation of the Jenny Glow brand and the range of products now in their portfolio.
Through her anecdotes, Jane emphasised the importance of hard work, balance, and resilience. She encouraged students to adapt, make a plan, and keep moving forward, even when life isn't straightforward.
Since her last visit to her old school, almost every year since then, students have requested Jane's return, such is the interest in the career journey which Jane has successfully carved out for herself.
During her visit, Jane brought a range of her beauty and fragrance products that she gifted to each one of the fifth year students.
Jane is daughter of Rory and Margaret (nee McDonagh) O'Connor, Ballyhaunis.
