Mayo councillor welcomes works in housing estates
DANGEROUS trees in an east Mayo housing estate have been removed.
Councillor Alma Gallagher is working with residents in a number of estates in the area and south Mayo to address issues they have.
In an update, Councillor Gallagher said she was delighted to have worked with residents of Aisling Drive in Ballyhaunis and Mayo County Council to secure funding for the removal of dangerous trees in the estate, improving the overall safety of residents.
“I work with numerous resident associations on the upkeep of common areas, ensuring adequate public lighting and coordinating street sweeping efforts,” she said.
Councillor Gallagher added: “At the last municipal district meeting I tabled a notice of motion on behalf of the residents of Ard Lugalisheen Estate, Ballindine, calling on Mayo County Council to take charge of the estate. We are one step further to securing vital infrastructure for residents of Ard Lugalisheen.”
She also expressed delight at seeing lighting in Glen Carra Estate in Knock finally proceeding, having made several representations to the council to ensure this was delivered.
