Passing of Mayo man who served as secretary to the President of Ireland
The death has taken place of Micheál Ó hOdhráin (Michael Horan), Dublin, and formerly of Partry, Claremorris.
The deceased served as secretary to the President of Ireland for many years.
He also served in a senior role at the Department of Education for some time.
Micheál is deeply mourned by his wife Marie, sons Micheál and Dara, daughters Bríd, Deirdre (Harte), Aedín (Dillon), daughters-in-law, Eleanor and Gina, sons-in-law Gary and Mike, much loved only granddaughter, Libby, grandsons, Conor, Seán, David, Cian, Dylan, Mark, Michael, Kevin and Carl, brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Many fond tributes are being paid to him on social media.
One stated: "He was very well liked and was lovely to everyone."
"A wonderful person and proud Partry man," another said.
A further tribute outlined: "He was a true gentlemen who was very proud of his family."
His remains will be reposing at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Blackrock (A94 X308) on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Removal on Tuesday morning (December 24) to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Foxrock, for Requiem Mass at 9.45 a.m. followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery.
