Tributes to popular Mayo woman Phil Quinn whose death has occurred

The death has taken place of Phil Quinn (née Connolly), Rathbawn Road, Castlebar, and late of Newport, Co. Mayo, and Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath.

She died peacefully in the dedicated care of the staff in the ‘Ross Suite’, Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar, surrounded by her loving family.

A widely-popular and affable personality, she is deeply regretted by her heartbroken husband Noel, daughters Connie (Lydon, Ballinrobe) and Karen (Glasson, Westmeath), sons Edwin (Castlebar) and Nigel (Castlebar), sons-in-law Pat and Philip, daughters-in-law Caroline and Claire, grandchildren Saoirse, Ciara, Aoife, Clodagh, Derval and Tom, sister-in-law Bridie Quinn (Castlebar), niece Anne (Westmeath) and nephew Liam (Westmeath), relatives, neighbours and friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters.

Warm tributes are being paid to her on social media.

"She was a beautiful lady and a great neighbour," one observed.

"Phil was an absolute lady and I have wonderful memories of singing with her in the choir," another stated.

"Always a pleasure to meet up with at Westport Choral Society gatherings," a further tribute said.

Phil will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, tomorrow (Sunday) from 5.30 to 7 p.m.

Removal from Coady’s Funeral Home on Monday at 10.30 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.

Phil will be laid to rest afterwards in the New Cemetery.
