Mayo man re-signs for Treaty United ahead of 2025 season

Treaty United have secured a major boost for the upcoming season with the re-signing of talented Kilkelly midfielder Mark Byrne.

The former Kiltimagh/Knock United star who joined the club in early 2024, enjoyed a stellar debut campaign, quickly becoming a fan favourite.

Byrne netted seven goals and provided four assists in 23 appearances, playing a key role in Treaty’s successes, including crucial goals against Longford Town and Finn Harps.

Previously with Sligo Rovers, the 22-year-old made 40 appearances for the Bit O’Red, including a Europa Conference League outing against FH Hafnarfjörður. He marked his Treaty debut in style last March, scoring in a Munster Senior Cup clash with Kerry FC.

Speaking to TreatyUnitedFC.com, Byrne expressed his excitement for the new season:

“I am delighted to be back for another season. I managed to get a few goals and assists last year, but I am looking to push on and make an even bigger impact this time around. I am confident that we can push ourselves into the playoff spots and make it a year to remember.”
