Work recommences on east Mayo primary care facility

Minister of State Dara Calleary TD has confirmed that work has recommenced on the construction of Ballyhaunis Primary Care Centre.

He stated:"I am really pleased that the contractor is back on site and works have recommenced at Ballyhaunis Primary Care Centre.

"This is a vital piece of infrastructure, not just for Ballyhaunis and East Mayo, but the county because once open it will ease a certain amount of pressure from the emergency department at Mayo University Hospital.

"The project stalled in 2021 much to my disappointment and that of the local community.

"Since then I have worked closely with the local Fianna Fail organisation and local representative Stephen Nolan, the HSE and Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly to get the project back on track.

"It is now expected to be completed by June with handover by late summer. I will continue to liaise with HSE management to ensure this happens."
