Panto returns to Mayo county town to mark centenary year

Castlebar Pantomine returns this week for the first time since 2019 following a hiatus due to Covid-19.

They light up the stage in The TF Royal Theatre from next Thursday, January 16, at 7 p.m. (sensory show) as the society marks its Centenary year.

The extravaganza continues with performances on Friday (7.30 p.m.), Saturday (2 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.) and Sunday (2 p.m.)

Step into a world of magic, laughter, and adventure with Castlebar Pantomime’s spectacular family show, “Once Upon a Time in Pantoland!”

Join the hilarious Dame Tallulah Tickle (Ethan McNea), her lively children Tommy (Natasha Crouch) and Tilly (Emma Daly) and a host of beloved pantomime characters as they face off against the wicked witch Mouldywart (Lorna Dennehy) and Snitch (Fran O’Leary) who has stolen the Spirit of Pantoland (Kate Loftus).

With the town’s laughter gone, can PC Pete (Damien Fee) and his faithful police dog Baxter (Ciaran Bailey) solve the mystery? Will the Fairy Grandmother (Sabrina Nolan) help bring the citizens of Pantoland their “happily ever laughter

Starring James Murray as the Toothfairy, Paul Roberts as King, John Morley as the Prince and, as Peter Pan, Castlebar’s infamous Larry Davis who is no stranger to the panto stage.

Once Upon a Time in Pantoland is packed with jokes, magical moments and catchy tunes to sing along to!

This enchanting story promises to be a delightful experience for the whole family.

With a production team comprising of Sharon Lavelle and Emma Daly as co-directors, Jason Guthrie as choreographer, Rebecca Cresham as musical director and a dream cast and chorus, this is a win-win on every level and a show not to be missed.
