MARY COLLERAN, CHARLESTOWN
Mary Colleran, (née Moffitt), Lowpark, Charlestown.
Mary was born in Charlestown County Mayo Ireland, the eldest of five children. When Mary finished school, like most of her friends, she emigrated to Philadelphia where it was home away from home for her with her Aunt Bea, Uncle Mike and cousins. She soon adapted to the American way of life and was very happy, but Mary never forgot her roots. She made many visits home to her beloved Charlestown. She wrote letters every week and always included a few dollars in them and of course she sent parcels for special occasions.
Later, her sister Kathleen, brother Tommy and sister Attracta joined her. Mary loved to cook, and she was known for her Irish scone.
Mary was a devout Catholic. Her faith was very important to her. She loved the Miraculous Medal and never forgot to attend the Monday novena every week.
Mary is predeceased by her dear husband Jimmy, her parents, John and Margaret Moffitt, her brothers Tommy and Val, her sister Kathleen Boyle and her nephew Michael.
She is survived by her loving sister Attracta, sister-in-law Phyllis, her brother-in-law Joe, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and friends.
Viewing and Mass will take place at St Joseph’s Manor Chapel on Thursday January 16, and afterwards Mary will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Philadelphia Pa. USA.
MARY ALICE GALLAGHER, ACHILL
Mary Alice Gallagher, The Shore, Bunnacurry, Achill.
Predeceased by her husband Jimmy Anthony, parents Tom and Mary McGinty and brother Tony.
Deeply mourned by her heartbroken family, daughters Ann and Mary B, son Tony and daughter in law Caroline, grandsons Anthony and Seamus, nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
CELIA KILGALLON, LOUISBURGH
Celia Kilgallon (née O'Toole), Knowsley Village, Liverpool, UK formerly Corragaun, Thallabawn, Louisburgh.
Predeceased by her husband John, daughter Maureen and son-in-law David. Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, daughters Eileen and Celia, son Sean, daughter-in-law Fay, sons-in-law Matt and Richard, grandchildren Myles, Seana, Olivia, Daniel and Georgia, 'nanny' to Yvonne and Julie, her nephews, nieces, neighbours, and many friends.
Celia will rest in repose at Sweeney's Funeral Home, Louisburgh on Monday, January 20 from 5 p.m., concluding with Vigil Prayers at 7 p.m.
Funeral arriving to the Church of the Holy Family, Killeen on Tuesday at 11.40 a.m. for 12 noon Mass of the Resurrection, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
ANNE JOSEPHINE MORAN, CLARE ISLAND
Anne Josephine Moran, Faungloss, Clare Island.
Loving daughter of the late Martin and Mary (née Lally) sister of the late Michael-James, Patrick, Hanna Scanlon, Sr. Mary-Alicia, Bridget Graham, her twin sister Margaret and Kathleen O'Malley. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her nephews, nieces, grand - nephews and nieces, cousins, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.
Anne-Josephine will rest in repose at Sweeney's Funeral Home, Louisburgh on Tuesday, January 14 from 3.30 p.m., concluding with Vigil Prayers at 4.30 p.m., followed by removal to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Clare Island via the 5 p.m. ferry from Roonagh Pier.
Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 2 p.m., followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.
VICTOR WILKIE, WESTPORT
Victor Wilkie, Lankill, Westport.
Predeceased by his wife Ann. Dearly loved and deeply missed by his daughters Susan and Gillian, dear friend Emmy, grandchildren Sophie and Conor, son-in-law Anthony, all his family and his friends from Allergan and Botox.
Funeral arriving at Holy Trinity Church, Westport, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, for service at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Newport Road Westport.
