Tributes to retired Mayo Eircom official on his passing
The death of Jimmy Heneghan, Garryduff Park, Castlebar, and formerly of Turlough Road, Castlebar and Tuam, Co. Galway, is deeply regretted.
He died peacefully in the loving and respectful care of the staff in St. John’s ward, Sacred Heart Hospital, Castlebar, surrounded by his loving family.
A retired staff member with Eircom, Castlebar, he was held in high regard in the community.
Many fond tributes are being paid to the deceased on social media.
"He was always such a gentleman and so friendly at all times," one stated.
Another said: "A wonderful and obliging neighbour."
A further tribute observed: "Jimmy played football with Tuam and later Castlebar. Some great performances. Sean Purcell was his hero."
He is deeply regretted by his loving wife Mary Moore Heneghan, sons John (Limerick) and Shay (Navan), daughters Vera (Morrisroe), Patricia (Walsh) and Mary (Cardoen, Brussles), brother Jack (Tuam), sister Bernadette (Tuam), daughters-in-law Beatrice and Elaine, sons-in-law Kieran, Padraic and Marc, grandchildren Jim, Fiona, Emma, Deirdre, Rory, Kian, Simon, Luke and Eve, Rory’s wife Florence, Deirdre’s husband Eamonn, great- grandson Ted, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
Jimmy was predeceased by his wife Mary Kenny Heneghan, parents John and Mary and sister Nancy (McHale), Middleton, Co. Cork.
Remains will repose at Coady’s Funeral Home, Castlebar, on Thursday from 5.30 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar.
Requiem Mass takes place on Friday at 11.30 a.m. with burial afterwards in the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
