Site of former Mayo bakery set to become new housing estate
Plans have been unveiled to transform the site of the former Gavin's Bakery, Knockthomas, Castlebar, into a housing estate.
Local developers MGB Land Holdings Limited have submitted an application for 33 houses at the location with access roads, connection to public services and ancillary site works.
The proposal also involves demolishing the existing buildings.
On a site nearby, another major housing development is the pipeline for Castlebar.
A planning application for a 32-unit development at Turlough Road and An Sruthán Road, Knockthomas, Castlebar, is currently under consideration.
MVS Construction Ltd. sought permission for the construction of a housing development consisting of semi-detached, detached and terrace configurations – one 4-bed detached house, three 3-bed detached houses, sixteen 3-bed semi-detached houses and twelve 2-bed terrace houses.
The project includes pedestrian and vehicular access onto Turlough Road and An Sruthán Road.
