Popular Mayo take-away restaurant makes closure decision

Popular Castlebar take-away restaurant Paramount House, located at New Antrim Street, is closing its doors later today.

Proprietors Andy and Olivia Ho Lam, have announced their decision to 'hang up their woks'' after long and dedicated service.

A statement by their family on the restaurant's Facebook page stated: "We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the local people and all those who have welcomed them in Castlebar over the last 30 to 40 years.

"You are the reason they stayed here and called Castlebar home.

"Pop in over the weekend and wish them a truly well deserved retirement."
