Planning work continues on greenway projects

PLANNING work on two greenway projects in west Mayo is continuing.

Elsewhere on the Great Western Greenway, staggered gates at 36 critical junctions have been put in place. Work will continue this year with the erection of signage at these junctions and additional gates at less critical junctions.

Fencing on the greenway at the Westport section at Rice College has been replaced.

At the other end of the route, at Achill Sound, work has continued in installing ancillary works at the Achill Sound trailhead, with accessible bicycle stands to be installed this month.
