Mayo garda property marking event

A PROPERTY marking event with An Garda Síochána is taking place in Newport.

This unique and free event is happening on Saturday, January 25, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Burrishoole Community Centre, Newport.

It is open to all people in the community and wider surrounding areas, and Newport Business Association is asking you to spread the word to people and groups that would be interested and benefit from this.

Property marking is a process where a physical mark is etched onto a piece of property such as a bike, laptop or tools.

The mark is made by a specially-designed machine which embosses the property item with small dots in the pattern of the owner’s Eircode - to make it harder for criminals to sell on stolen property. So don’t forget your Eircode on the day.
