Serious overcrowding at Mayo hospital due to bed shortages

Up to 28 admitted patients are without beds at Mayo University Hospital today.

Eleven are in the emergency department and 17 are in the corridors of wards elsewhere.

Nationally, 600 admitted patients are waiting for beds, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 417 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 183 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
